I was on the science side, helping kids work through the activities, and I really enjoyed how quickly they got comfortable asking questions. It felt good to see them go from ‘I don't know’ to trying something out five minutes later.
I helped with sourcing and volunteering, so I was doing a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff. The day itself was really fun. Once the kids started building, everyone was moving around and figuring things out together.
I never really liked science before this because it usually felt like memorizing things. The teachers were really engaging and let us mess around with the slime until we figured out what made it stretch more.
The slime was so cool because it actually felt different every time we mixed it. I made a big batch and I'm keeping it to play with after. I want to try making it less sticky next time.
